Fate Within My Hands
Alas! You do not hear my lonesome cries,
you see me not, though in your path I stand.
To you, I'm but a picture in a frame,
a brief amusement given to your hand.
I cannot hope to reach you in this form,
my dreams but folly, taken by the wind.

This path before me, ever on it winds,
not washed away by bitter tears I've cried.
Unable to assume another form
more pleasing to your eye and touch, I stand
with downcast eyes upon my wringing hands,
and wishing only for a human frame.

And standing thus, a plan I start to frame.
