Hope
I could fill a dozen albums
with the pictures you've given me-
painted with words
and unheard music,
tied with a ribbon
woven of longing like silk.

My mind unwraps them at night,
and they flow through my dreams
in an unending stream-
a waterfall of smiles
and laughter,
and a touch I've never felt.

I watch them go by as I listen
to every song you ever sang to me
playing on a far-away radio,
and the thick syrup sound
of your voice in my ear-

and I wonder if you know
that I store every word in my heart,
making it swell so much
I find it hard to breathe.

But morning comes-
it's time to put them away.
And as I close the co

I feel like I'm living
a double-exposure life-

waking hours spent smothered
in someone else's black-and-white photo.

But sleep brings me relief-

I walk beside you
in technicolour dreams,

white-capped blue water
that stretches to the horizon,
and echoes the cloud-washed sky above-
green hills rising high behind us.

Rose-patterned wallpaper
decorates gossamer walls
of a mind-apartment

whose yellow kitchen
smells of fresh-baked bread
and matches sunflower plates
laid out for lunch.

I wonder,
if my dreams weren't so vivid-
maybe my life wouldn't be
so grey.

This is really nice. I wish it was in 1680x1050 size for my monitor. It's definitely one of the nicest wallpapers on here.

You know, that could be arranged... I was defaulting all my wallpapers to that size, but my monitor had an unfortunate accident, and I'm back to a 1024x768 CRT, so I've gotten a bit lazy with the renders. Give me a few days, and I'll note you when I have the larger version rendered, tweaked and posted. :)
