Beaded Lighter Case

As an added bonus, the new cam lets me finally show you my first love--beadwork. The style used here is called "peyote stitch", and it's one of my favorites. The beads are laid like bricks, in alternating, offset rows. It's very work-intensive, though, as each bead has to be placed individually, and size does matter--if they're not all very nearly identical, it throws the rows off. By the way, the two missing beads in the pattern were an accident...they're called "ghost beads", and I was about to tear them out when a friend told me not to, it was a message from the spirits, and it would be bad luck. I know exactly which spirit it was that made that happen, too--I was working this the night my mom died.
